SLP Superintendent Search Update 5/2

After 36 years of service and leadership in public education, current Superintendent Rob Metz announced earlier this year that he would retire at the end of the school year. The School Board has narrowed the field of candidates down to 6 and the district office has shared the interview schedule with us.

School Board to Interview 6 Candidates for Superintendent
May 2, 2017 – The School Board for St. Louis Park Public Schools has selected six candidates to be interviewed for the Superintendent position on May 3 and May 4.

Wednesday, May 3 – Superintendent Interviews:
5:30 p.m. Ms. Lisa Sayles-Adams, currently Assistant Superintendent, St. Paul Public Schools
6:45 p.m. Dr. Michael Favor, currently Executive Director of Student Services and Schools, Robbinsdale Area Schools
8:00 p.m. Mr. Eric Melbye, currently Assistant Superintendent, Bloomington Public Schools

Thursday, May 4 – Superintendent Interviews:
5:30 p.m. Mr. Astein Osei, currently Assistant Superintendent, Osseo Area Public Schools
6:45 p.m. Dr. Leadriane Roby, Assistant Superintendent, Richfield Public Schools
8:00 p.m. Mr. Michael Thomas, Chief of Academics and Leadership, Minneapolis Public Schools

Interviews will be held both nights in the High School, Room C350. The public is invited to attend, however there is not an opportunity for input.

At the conclusion of the May 4 interviews, the School Board will select finalists who will participate in daylong interviews with multiple groups of stakeholders on May 8, 9, and 10. Each day, a superintendent finalist will participate in a community interview from 5-6 p.m. in the Middle School, Media Center Classrooms, where audience members may ask questions of the candidates and provide written feedback directly to the school board.
