Walk and Roll to School 5/1-5/5

Hey Everybody! It’s time to Walk & Roll to School!
May 1st – 5th is Walk & Roll to School Week at Susan Lindgren. Why does it make good sense to walk or bike to school?

Biking and walking to school…
1. Helps wake you up so you’re alert by the time you get to school.
2. Helps keep hearts healthy and your bodies strong and fit.
3. Helps make the air cleaner by not using a car!
4. Gives you a chance to talk to your friends before school.
5. Teaches you how to be safe on the streets around school & SLP.
6. Gives you time outdoors.
7. Helps reduce the number of cars on the road.
8. Gives you time to ease into your school day.
9. Helps you get to know your neighborhood.
10. Puts you in a good mood for the day.

– If you live close enough, you can WALK or you can BIKE.
– If you take the bus, you can WALK AROUND THE FIELD BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS!
– If you take a car to school you can drive most of the way and PARK AND WALK a block or two, or WALK THE FIELD ONCE YOU GET TO SCHOOL.

Please help support the kids and encourage our families to participate by handing out stickers before school at the front and back entrances. We’ve got a way for everyone to participate. With your help we can all start the day strong and stay that way!
